How it works to send through a Whatnot streamer:
When a card is purchased from an approved Streamer, the streamer ships that card to our Postal Box. Dotto picks up from the box twice a week at minimum, and then puts the cards through an intake process. The cards are then put into the grading queue, which goes: Research and ID, Scan, AI Grading, Human Review, QA, Label creation and ownership assignment, Payment link is sent, once paid - encapsulation, pictures for the card page, packaging, and shipping, grading reports upload. The reports may take some time to upload if you graded through a Whatnot streamer, which includes ownership assignment to your Dotto profile. If you purchased a Dotto Graded Slab from a streamer or on another platform like eBay, to have ownership assigned to you on the report, simply email a picture of your card with your Dotto profile page only you can see when you log in to contact@dottocardco.com.

Pricing: The current cost to grade through a Whatnot Streamer is $12 per vertical card and $14 per Horizontal card plus shipping from Dotto to you. The prices are subject to change depending on demand and market conditions like any other company.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Long does it take to get my cards back if I purchased from a Whatnot Streamer
This is the most common question we get! First, the cards have to get to us. Each streamer has their own process on how they ship to Dotto. Some wait after a couple of shows to put in one big package, while others send after each and every stream. It is safe to say it takes us 3-5 days to receive the cards after each stream. Once we receive the cards they go through an intake process. During that intake process they are organized by the Whatnot username (we recommend when setting up your Dotto profile to use the same username on both platforms). They get moved into our grading queue. The goal is to have the cards graded and ready for encapsulation in 7-10 business days. Please understand this is not always possible due to several factors. All in all, it is on average a two to three week process.
What can slow down my order?
The following are the most common reasons your order can be dalyed:
-
A payment link remains unpaid: We will email you a payment link when the cards are ready for encapsulation and the final stages. If a payment link remains unpaid, then the card remains in queue. After 30 days, any unpaid cards will be returned to the streamer it came from ungraded.
-
Customers often request for us to hold their cards until they reach a certain amount to save on shipping. We actually prefer this method, and recommend to accumulate to 12 cards in this process.
-
An overwhelming amount of orders have come in as one short burst.
-
During the QA process, if something is identified that needs to be corrected, then the card goes back through the queue but as a priority.
-
A shortage in supplies due to unforeseen supply chain issues such as tariffs or Holidays in foreign countries.
Am I going to get good grades because the streamer said so?
You will get the grade your card comes graded as. We use an AI aptly named "Dotto" that grades your cards, which is followed by a human review (Not human Grading). If a card is graded as an Impeccable 10, it is ran through the grading again for accuracy. So the streamer will use a quick glance and human eye during the stream but are not privy to the final grade ahead of time in any way.
I have heard rumors that the values are the same as PSA, Beckett or other grading companies. What is the validity of this?
Unfortunately when a new company enters any space, rumors persist, but that's okay. Dotto does not claim its graded cards have the same value as any of the major grading companies. In fact, we love the Major grading companies like PSA and Beckett and encourage those who are looking for only a value increase to go with those companies for now. Dotto is not here to compete but to offer an alternative to collectors. The future demand and natural market for grading will determine the Dotto Graded Cards over time. What matters is the value you give it. In the past, some of our words were taken out of context as we were comparing to the grading scale, not value.
I have also heard that Dotto grades exactly like PSA and Beckett, is this true?
When you learn, you want to learn from the best, and we consider PSA and Beckett the longstanding champions of grading. Because of that, our AI grader has learned from PSA graded and Beckett Graded cards. In its testing, we even had Dotto grade cards before sending to PSA or Beckett with an 88% accuracy ratio. The ratio is considered high as grading, no matter who you go with, comes down to some human subjectivity. We grade on a 1-10 scale like both companies, and we grade on an average of four sub scores like many other companies do. What may be different is nuanced, for example, if a card is aesthetically designed to be off center, center grading companies may or may not take that into consideration. In short, we have our own grading scale that is modeled after most grading companies but is still our own grading scale. When looking at Dotto grades, a Gem Mint 10 we believe is the equivalent of a 10 grade most companies offer, and our Impeccable 10 is a perfect score according to how our AI percieves the card. We have a Vintage grading scale that allows for more leniency depending on the age of the card, but that card could still score a natural Gem Mint 10 or Impeccable 10.
Do I have to create a Dotto Profile to grade?
No, but it is highly encouraged as that is where we get your mailing address to ship you your graded cards, and not to mention, in the future there will be much more to Dotto than just card grading. So if you are a collector we highly suggest creating a profile for ease of use.
If I have any issues with my graded slab, do I go to Dotto or the streamer?
Why do I see so many 10 grades? Are they that easy to get?
If you have any issues with the slabs you received, please contact contact@dottocardco.com. We will do what we can to correct any issues you may have.
You will see a lot of 10's more often due to submitter's bias. Many submitters, especially streamers will only send what they believe will get a high enough grade. Most grade to get higher grades, while others do so to secure their card through encapsulation. The streamers very often will take a glance at a card and may or may not recommend to send it for grading. This is why you see more 10's than not, and it is currently a small sample size. There is also clustering, a phenomenon where if the same product comes from the same vendor and in cases the same batch, they will likely be consistent. While we get a variety of cards, we gat a majority of Super Dragon Ball Heroes and Dragon Ball Super Divers, which from their nature and construction grade better than lets say Fusion World due to many factors. As we grow and start seeing more cards, you will see a variety of more grades. Not to mention, most people dont show or brag about cards that grade lower, the same reason on social media people don't highlight the negative parts of their life for the most part.
